Hey. Just wanted to ask you something about FLC.

I've noticed when trying to load FLCompanion with one particular mod enabled, FLCompanion disappears from the process list a few seconds after it appears there. Is this a deliberate measure to stop people using it with certain mods or a crash which I can debug somehow?

That's not something expected..
Some mods may make FLCompanion crash but not terminate quietly after starting.

You can report (in the forum) which mods are doing that, and I will try to analyze these cases.

It's Crossfire 1.28. I expected a large error log when I loaded it with FLC, but after removing Crossfire's registry entry from FLMM and removing the references to two non-existent DLL files in freelancer.ini, FLC crashes before a GUI is even displayed.

Maybe there's a way to make FLC log all errors to a text file or something?

Last status about CrossFire Mod was already explained in my message here: viewtopic.php?p=1967#p1967
(and Alex, you did even post in this subject)

I will repeat here:
CrossFire Mod authors have added security systems to their mod so tools like Freelancer Companion won't be able to function and will crash.
Moreover, they have expressed the desire not to be able to use Freelancer Companion with their mod.
The task to overcome these security measures is too difficulty for me, so I won't be working on it.

The only strange thing is that now you're saying that it makes Freelancer Companion crash "silently" whereas before it used to crash with a Windows message (see tzoy post). Maybe this is due to a difference of configuration in your Windows OS error reports.

Forgot about that topic. Was 5 months ago.

Guess I'll have a go at getting through these 'security systems' then. I'm guessing it involves correcting some bad entries or something.

There is no simple way to log which file/line FLC crashed on then? (Even memory addresses which hold line numbers? List of files FLC requires?) Shame...

Edit: Actually, now I've thought about it, maybe there's a way to force FLC to start with a blank database and have it import everything it can from the game?

I won't give in public details about those CrossFire security measures but I can assure you it's much more difficult than correcting a few bad entries..
