The 2.01 version you linked won't start for me, gives an error when trying to start. It says the following:

Code:
---------------------------
FLCompanion - Unexpected error
---------------------------
Assertion failed

In: IniFile.cpp line 199

Value: 0 (0x0)

I just tested FLC 2.01 with Discovery 4.86 beta 4 (update 3):

Meanwhile, FLC 2.02 does not do anything (it's supposed to show the message dialog I think?) when I set it to import all data and connect to a server with 4.86 beta 4.

I have tried it with a few systems and commodities and haven't had any issue reading prices in game with v2.01.

It even worked for the temporarily high price of Helium on Planet Pittsburgh, and changed accordingly once my level was too high and the price dropped to $50/unit. (The price changed first in game, changing my files, which changed Companion.)

I'm afraid there might be an issue in v2.02 as far as the mining goes. I can't think of any other reason why v2.01 would work so nicely even after the Discovery 4.86 beta release and why I've always had issues with v2.02 even back in Discovery v4.85.

FLComp 2.01 works fine, indeed.

Even the mining bases and prices work just fine. Dynamic update works. I wish you good luck in tracking down the issue, but I fear that will be a very frustrating line-by-line checking in the code...

I've seen a few posts (TSP, DPTC) that suggest this problem is caused by the multiple-instance hack in the 4.86 Freelancer.exes.

I've noticed that FLCompanion 2.01 can't detect Discovery 4.87 beta update 6's codename selling locations in the items repository.

I really need to open-source FLC so you can continue develop it..

Unfortunately it is widely tied to a library of functions that I don't want to open-source...

I tried returning to Discovery recently and found issues loading the latest version (4.88.1) with FLC. Seems to be related to the new sector0[1-3] systems, perhaps related to some sort of multi-universe customisation? Will definitely see what I can do with this source to fix it, thanks!
